North Canterbury Flooding Update

Further to the earlier alert about flooding in North Canterbury.

State Highway 1 between Wyllies Rd and Harlston Road ( north of the Ashley River ) is closed due to flooding. There are detours in place, but these go through secondary roads which also having minor flooding on them.

There are many areas throughout the North Canterbury area which are flooding and causing problems for motorists. Police request that motorists rethink there travel plans and stay off the roads as much as possible to alleviate conjestion.
