Hastings welcomes 26 new citizens

Hastings will welcome 26 new New Zealanders at a citizenship ceremony to be held Wednesday 16th July 2014, from 6 pm in the Hastings District Council Chambers.

The candidates’ nationalities are as follows:
British: 12
South African: 6
American: 1
Samoan: 2
Fijian: 2
Indian: 1
Czech: 1
Argentinian: 1

A Kaumatua will welcome those present on behalf of tangata whenua.

Hastings District Council Councillors will present each candidate with a kowhai tree to symbolise “putting down roots”.
