Mount Somers, Ashburton District: Crash Logging Truck

Canterbury, 11 August 2014 - About 5.40am
this morning a truck and trailer unit carrying logs bound
for the Port of Timaru rolled over on a moderate corner on
Arundel Rakaia Gorge Road.
The road was closed for 5 hours
with diversions put in place.
Police Serious Crash and
CVIU officers attended the scene supported by a Police
photographer and local Police.
A 39 year old male was
examined by St John Ambulance personal and transported to
Christchurch Hospital by Westpac Helicopter. His condition
is described as minor with a broken rib and bruising.
The
cause of the crash was still being
investigated.
