Plenty of public transport options for All Blacks versus Australia test

There are plenty of trains and buses to get fans to the All Blacks – Australia rugby test at Eden Park on Saturday night (23 August). You will need to plan ahead because public transport and roads around the park will be busy ahead of the7.35pm kick-off.

Travel is included on trains and special event buses from 4.30pm with a match ticket. Remember to keep your game ticket for the ride home. Another option is walking or cycling to Eden Park, it’s about 4.5km from the city centre, there is some bike parking available.

Travel to Eden Park by train from the city:
Additional trains will leave Britomart stopping at Grafton on the way to Kingsland. The last pre kick off train will leave Britomart at 7.10 and is due at Kingsland at 7.25.
After the game, Kingsland is the station for passengers heading back towards the city. The only stop is at Grafton so if you’re going South or East, you’ll need to transfer at Britomart. The last train for the city leaves Kingsland at 11.54.
Before and after the games trains will be running approximately every 5 to 10 minutes.

Travel to Eden Park by train from the west:
There will be extra services on the Western Line. Event trains terminate at Morningside station, a short walk to Eden Park. Trains will operate every 15 minutes from Swanson or every 30 minutes from Waitakere.
After the game, Morningside is the station for passengers travelling west. Services depart approximately every 10 minutes, stopping at all stations en route to Swanson. Some trains will continue on to Waitakere - check the train’s destination signage or ask staff before boarding. The last train west is at 12.24am.
A mobility shuttle will operate before and after the match between Morningside station and the stadium.

Travel to Eden Park by train from the south/east:
Additional trains will operate on the Southern and Eastern Lines to Britomart where you can transfer on to Western Line services to Kingsland.
After the game, Kingsland will be the station for passengers heading back to Britomart.

Travel to Eden Park by bus:
Travel on special event buses is included in your game ticket. Services operate to Eden Park from Auckland City (Civic Theatre), Northern Busway stations, Takapuna, Manukau, Pakuranga, Botany, Newmarket and Mt Eden.

Remember to keep your game ticket for the ride home.

Travel to Eden Park by ferry:
Use the normal scheduled ferry services and transfer on to a Western Line train service to Kingsland Station. Please note that ferry travel is not included with a match ticket.

Travel to Eden Park by car:
Some streets around Eden Park, including Sandringham Rd, will be closed or have restricted access. Only residents and their visitors will be able to use and park in certain streets, so drivers should check they have parked correctly before heading to the match.
Limited mobility parking with a valid mobility permit is available on the eastern side of Cricket Avenue between Raleigh Street and Reimers Avenue.

Niterider Buses:
If you are heading into the city after the match, remember to check out our Niterider services for getting home. These buses run between 1am and 3.40am on various special routes, fares are $4.50 and $6.50.
