Missing Fisherman Located - Tauranga Harbour - Bay
of Plenty
A fisherman who has been missing on
the Tauranga Harbour overnight has been found.
The 60
year old man went fishing in a 4 metre aluminium dinghy in
the Katikati area at about 4pm yesterday and was reported
missing when he failed to return home as planned at 7pm.
A
helicopter search last night had to be abandoned due to
weather conditions.
At about 7:40 am police and ambulance
were called to an address in Sharpe Road Aongatete after the
man went to the address for assistance after making his way
ashore early this morning.
He was uninjured, but tired and
suffering from the effects of exposure.
He has been taken
to Tauranga Hospital by ambulance for
treatment.
