Missing Man - Fears for safety

Police officers using dogs and the Eagle helicopter are searching in the Botany Downs area of Auckland for a 65 year old man who is missing from a private hospital and retirement home.

The man suffers from dementia and short term memory loss and other medical conditions. Police hold fears for his safety.

He was last seen at about 2pm today in the vicinity of 105 Botany Road.

He is described as tall, of medium build and wears glasses. He walks with a distinctive shuffling gait.

It is not know what clothing he is wearing.

Police ask that anyone who has seen the man contact the police urgently.
