The University of Auckland is holding a major public lecture series on the newest, smartest ideas in green technologies with topics including geothermal energy, electric vehicles, power use reduction and green growth opportunities.

The 2014 Vice-Chancellor’s Lecture series involves research leaders from the Faculty of Engineering and the University’s Business School who will discuss new and emerging research in renewable and sustainable energy.

“Renewable energy resources are a critical issue of our time as New Zealand strives to be at the forefront of new science and technology that will allow us to live in more sustainable ways,” says University of Auckland Vice-Chancellor Professor Stuart McCutcheon.

“I’m pleased that the theme of this year’s Vice-Chancellor’s Lecture Series is such an important one and that the series focuses on advanced and innovative research that will help shape our future.”

Professor Rosalind Archer, Head of the Department of Engineering Science who holds the Mighty River Power Chair in Geothermal Reservoir Engineering, says the lectures provide an opportunity to discover the latest developments in renewables both in New Zealand and overseas.
