Auckland motorway traffic flowing again after CMJ crash

Auckland motorway traffic flowing again after CMJ crash

The NZ Transport Agency says traffic is starting to flow normally again on the Auckland motorway network after a crash earlier this afternoon on the Central Motorway Junction (Spaghetti Junction) caused heavy congestion and delays.

The six vehicle crash closed two of the Southern Motorway’s three northbound lanes between the Symonds Street and SH16 off-ramps.

A slow moving queue of northbound traffic extended south beyond the Mt Wellington interchange while emergency services responded to the crash.

The Transport Agency says all lanes have re-opened and it thanks drivers for their patience while the lanes were closed in the CMJ and wishes them a safe and smooth journey home this evening.
