Karori Road retaining wall work finished

Karori Road retaining wall work finished

Work on the new Karori Road retaining wall was completed on Friday 17 October.

The original retaining wall at 181 Karori Road was damaged and its replacement is part of Wellington City Council’s work programme to upgrade and improve the city’s infrastructure and resilience.

To reduce construction time and minimise disruption, concrete panels were made off-site and installed using a crane. Work was initially to be completed by August, however due to unforeseen ground conditions the anchoring system was changed to better suit the location.

Wellington City Council and contractors Fulton Hogan would like to thank the students and parents of Samuel Marsden College and the people of Karori for their patience while this important work was done.
