Male missing in Coromandel Ranges

On Tuesday afternoon Waikato Search and Rescue commenced a search operation in the Coromandel Ranges looking for a 59 year old Pukekohe man.

The missing man entered the coromandel range area from Kauaeranga Valley Road end on Monday, intending to return late in the day. His wife raised the alarm when he failed to return by Tuesday lunchtime. The lost person is thought to be wearing jeans and poorly prepared for a spending extended time in the bush.

Search teams have been working overnight checking tracks and historic kauri log dams that are of interest to the lost man.

The Police Search and Rescue are keen from anyone who may have been in the coromandel ranges this week to help with sightings of people in ether area or to assist with determining which footprints many relate to the lost man.
