Rere Rockslide to feature on Travel Channel

A film crew from U.S. television show Xtreme Waterparks will be filming at Rere Rockslide Saturday 22 November.

The shoot is for the show that is based in the United States but broadcasts internationally on the Travel Channel.

“We are interested in shooting at Rere Rockslide because it is a natural waterslide” says Ronica Harris, Producer of the Xtreme Waterparks show.

Xtreme Waterparks is the top rated show for Travel Channel featuring many big slides worldwide such as “Verruckt” – the world’s tallest waterslide at Schlitterbahn Waterparks in Kansas City and “Insano” at Beach Park in Brazil.

”We also like to feature those slides that are just found naturally in nature,” explains Ms Harris.

Council has tidied up the site for summer, including clearing the track on the right embankment.

Council would like the public to be aware of filming on this Saturday 22 November as there may be limited use of the slide during filming.

Gisborne locals will be featured in the segment after an open casting call was distributed last week.

Air dates are unconfirmed but the show will most likely broadcast first in the U.S. sometime in July - August 2015.
