Bay of Plenty East Traffic Report

SH30A Rotorua central (outside Pak’nSave on Amohau St) –

· Work: Road pavement and surfacing reinstatement

· Active: Night-time (9pm to 6am) Sun 23rd to Wed 26th Nov

· Traffic control: Road closed; short detour in place.

· Impact: Detour route is about the same length as highway route. Minor delays for HPMV who should use SH5 Old Taupo Rd and SH30 Hemo Rd & Sala St.

SH2 Pekatahi Bridge (between Awakeri and Taneatua) –

· Work: Bridge repairs

· Active: Night-time (7pm to 6am) Sun 23rd to Thu 27th Nov

· Traffic control: Stop/go for temporary closures of approx 5mins at a time.

· Impact: Minor delays (5-10 mins).

SH34 Kawerau –

· Work: Open trenching of road for box-culvert installation

· Active: Mon-Fri daylight hours

· Traffic control: Stop/go or temporary traffic lanes with a speed restriction in place, followed by speed restriction for the unsealed section of road.

· Impact: Minor delays possible (<5 mins). Care required on uneven unsealed surface, including at night.

SH5 between Tirau and Rotorua , and
SH2 between Taneatua and Matawai –

· Work: Pre-seal repairs (patching)

· Active: Mon-Fri daylight hours

· Traffic control: Stop/go, followed by speed restriction for the unsealed or newly sealed patches.

· Impact: Minor delays possible (<5 mins). Care required on uneven unsealed surface, including at night.

NOTICE OF UPCOMING WORKS

SH2 from Awakeri to Taneatua (at Pekatahi Bridge) –

· Night-time full road closure Mon 1st Dec with detour in place via Whakatane. Works are weather dependant.

Bay of Plenty East network-wide –

· Re-seal programme scheduled to start Mon 1st Dec and expected to take through to mid-Feb, with no works during the main holiday period.
