Santa’s Wonderland to delight kids in Hastings

From December 1st until Christmas Eve the centre of Hastings will become home to the Cranford Hospice Santa’s Wonderland – a Christmas extravaganza to delight the children of Hastings.

Hastings City Business Association, together with Cranford Hospice, have put together this festive paradise promising to enchant young and old. Santa will be on hand each day to gather present lists, enlighten some eager children with stories from the North Pole and have a much coveted photo taken.

The wonderland will be decked out (courtesy of our local Bay City Rollers) and transformed into a fantasy world brimming with Christmas trees, twinkling lights and decorations, trains, gingerbread house and Santa’s grotto.

This free event will be open from Monday to Saturday 10-4pm and late night Thursday 5pm til 7pm in the old Whitcoulls building in the Heretaunga Street Mall so be sure to make a special outing to see Santa and watch those young eyes widen with delight. The Cranford Hospice wishing tree will be on hand and donations to Cranford Hospice will be gratefully received.

Christmas comes alive Thursday 4th December in Hastings CBD Christmas will come alive in the CBD on Thursday 4th December - a festive Christmas Night Market will open at 5pm, with Santa’s Wonderland to pop into whilst perusing the many delights of the market; the ‘Great KidsCan Santa Run’ will kick-off from the Night Market at 6.30pm – a bunch of Santa’s running through the CBD is sure to light up a fair few young faces! The dulcet tones of Christmas Carols will be ringing out from the central stage to round off the festive feel along with the official switching on of the CBD Christmas Lights at 8pm.
