L’affare launches new Christmas blend for City Mission

L’affare launches new Christmas blend for the Wellington City Mission

The Wellington City Mission is excited to announce that in line with their ‘Christmas Star Appeal’, L’affare is launching a new ‘Christmas Blend’ coffee and gifting a percentage of proceeds from its sale to The Mission.

50% of the cost price of $8 per 150 gram box will be donated to The Mission, and they will be available for purchase in-store at L’affare’s flagship café on College Street, Wellington, from Monday 1 December. The festive blend will also be sold online at laffare.co.nz until the end of December, and will be offered as an espresso and filter option in the café during the month.

L’affare’s Coffee Specialist, Olivia Carson, and Head Roaster, Kerry Murray, have created the blend, which is described as “Christmas pudding in a cup”. The blend comprises high-grade Arabica beans from Guatemala, Ethiopia and Colombia. The flavour profile of the coffee incorporates hints of dried red fruit, raisin, sultana and citrus peel with cherry and spice on the finish. It is best brewed via espresso, filter, plunger and AeroPress.

“We value the incredible job that the Wellington City Mission does for Wellingtonians in need, not just at Christmas-time but all year round” says Selena Hurndell Bulled, L’affare’s Brand Manager. ”We are proud to join other Wellington businesses in supporting The Mission’s Christmas appeal to give something back to our local community.”

The Mission is delighted with the support its Christmas appeal is receiving from local businesses. Wellington City Mission Chief Executive Officer Michelle Branney says: “We’ve enjoyed a longstanding relationship with L’affare, and encourage all coffee lovers to support The Mission by purchasing the special seasonal blend.”
