Charges laid for vandalism in New Brighton
Police have charged one person and referred another to Youth Aid for damage to New Brighton Pier on 21 September 2014.
The cost to repair the damage to the glass balustrade panels on the pedestrian ramp and two large windows of the adjacent New Brighton Public Library has been estimated to be just over $38,000.
An 18 year old man will appear in Christchurch District Court on Monday 1 December 2014 charged with Intentional Damage. A 14 year old boy has been referred to Youth Aid.
Police investigations are continuing.
