SKYCITY Auckland the home of festive cheer this Christmas


Aucklanders will soon be treated to 20 days of Christmas at SKYCITY, with Federal Street set to twinkle with festive lights topped off with Santa up the Sky Tower.

On December 5, SKYCITY’s iconic 13 metre Christmas Tree will go up outside on the plaza of the Sky Tower for the first time, as the Sky Tower lights up green and red above. Visitors can enjoy carols in the plaza by Dragon’s Breath onDecember 5, 12, 13, 19 and 20 in the lead up to Christmas, making a visit to SKYCITY the perfect festive evening for family and friends.

The Sky Tower’s Main Observation Level will be home to Santa’s grotto from 10am – 3pm on selected dates in December, with one free photo for each child who will also receive a free chocolate treat.

At ground level, the traditional advent calendar gets a contemporary update for grown-ups with daily offers revealed through SKYCITY’s facebook and twitter channels. Up for grabs are discounts and vouchers around the SKYCITY Auckland site, including restaurants, parking and East Day Spa. Instagrammers will be encouraged to take a #skycitysantaselfie around SKYCITY capturing the Christmas Spirit and the best photo will be in to win an iPhone6.

Restaurants on Federal Street are booking up fast, with Gusto at the Grand, The Sugar Club, MASU by Nic Watt and The Grill by Sean Connolly all open on Christmas.
