"Overhead Lines Down at Ava Station - Ava Station, Lower Hutt - National Alerts"

At about 11:30pm on Monday 8th December a Tranzmetro train travelling into Ava Station in Lower Hutt collided with a pole bringing down over-head cables. No one was injured, but passengers were held on the train until the lines were isolated and made safe.

Tranzmetro say between Taita and Petone there will be a limited bus replacement service and delays are expected. Their morning trains will be running normally between Upper Hutt and Taita, and Petone to Wellington.
