Flooding across the Kāpiti district

Flooding across the Kāpiti district as at 2.15pm Wednesday, December 10.

Metservice is stating the worst of the weather in Kapiti is over, with rain easing and river levels dropping.

Latest information on flooding is:

· There have been traffic delays on SH1 between Manakau and Levin near Ohau Bridge due to flooding.


· Te Horo Beach Rd is open but caution signs have been erected due to surface flooding and traffic management is in place.


· Water is across the road at in Raumati South at Hillcrest Road, Clunie Avenue, Grange Park Avenue and Tiromoana Road.


· The stream on Guildford Drive, Paraparaumu is also flooding.


· In Ōtaki there is flooding on the corner of Ngaio and Tasman Road too.


· 70mm of rain has fallen in Paekakariki since midnight and it is also very windy there.
