Tuesday, 16 December 2014 - 3:11pm

Canterbury

Canterbury Police believe they have identified the French tourist who was unaccounted for in Arthurs Pass as Celine Vitrioul.

Attached are two photographs of Celine. One taken by a Canadian tourist, Genevieve, while she was hiking on route 12 in Arthurs Pass and the other by a family Celine stayed with while she was in the north island.

Police encourage Celine or anyone who knows where she may be or has seen her to please contact Police on 03 363 7670 or message them through their Facebook page www.facebook.com/ChristchurchPolice(link is external) .

Alternatively you can provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police would like to thank the public and media for their help in identifying Celine and hope someone can help us locate her and confirm she is safe.
