Robbery in Hamilton

Hamilton Police are appealing for information after an 18 year old Indian male was seriously assaulted and robbed last night at about 9.30 pm on Wairere Drive, Hamilton near to Ruakura Road and the Marist Rugby Club. Detective Sergeant William Loughrin of the Hamilton CIB said the victim was knocked unconscious and sustained serious head injuries, which resulted the victim being admitted to Waikato hospital. Police would like to hear from any motorists or members of the public who may have witnessed the assault or people loitering around the area at the time.

The first offender was described as male Maori or Polynesian, aged around 22 years old and of a short chubby build.

The offender had a moustache, short hair and was wearing blue coloured clothing.

The second offender was described as male Maori or Polynesian, aged around 16 years old and of a skinny build.

The second offender had a tattoo in the form of writing on his forearm. The third offender was described as male Maori or Polynesian, under 16 years and of a skinny build.

The third offender was also wearing blue clothing.

The offenders were last seen walking on Wairere Drive heading towards Old Farm Road, Hamilton.
