Greet 2015 with a party in Hagley Park

Christchurch City Council is hosting a New Year's Eve party at Hagley Park.
The party starts at 6.30pm with an outdoor cinema screening of family-friendly movie Cats and Dogs.

The Johnny Possum Band will provide entertainment for children in the lead up to an early midnight countdown for littlies at 8.30pm.

Bouncy castles, bubbles, lights and confetti cannons will add to the excitement.
Take a picnic or get some food from one of the stalls and remember, this party is alcohol free.

At 9pm, country music band Remedy performs old classic and contemporary sounds. Then D'sendantz makes a return to the New Year's stage. Closer to midnight, The Black Velvet Band will inject even more energy and everyone can sing along to Auld Lang Syne.

Fireworks will fill the night sky, the Arch Wizard of Canterbury will cast a spell for the New Year and the music will continue until 12.30am.

The New Year celebration in Hagley Park is part of the Council's SummerTimes events. More information about each band can be found in the SummerTimes brochure available at Council service centres and libraries, or online at www.summertimes.co.nz.

Parking is available at Carlton Mill corner for a small fee. Entry is off Harper Avenue.
