Shots fired at Motueka house

Nelson Bays Police are investigating an incident that occurred in Woodlands Avenue, Motueka overnight in which shots were fired at a house.

Just after 11pm on 3 January two shots, believed to be from a shotgun, were fired from a vehicle, possibly a dark coloured 4 wheel drive or similar, smashing windows at the front of the dwelling.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Johnston said that while the occupants were home at the time thankfully no one was hurt.

"This type of unsavoury behaviour has the potential to cause serious injury or worse.

When we find the person or persons responsible they will be held accountable through the Courts," he said.

"These reckless actions will not be tolerated in this community and I urge anyone with information that may help identify the offender to contact Police directly Ph 03 5463840 or via Crime Stoppers Ph 0800 555 111 without delay.
