Registrations now open for Bike the Trail 2015

People can now sign up online for Bike the Trail 2015 - the hugely popular family-friendly biking event along the Hutt River Trail.

The event usually sees more than 1000 people of all ages riding the Hutt River Trail and is a popular way for families to ride together because the entire course is flat and away from roads.

Although it's free to attend, the event people must register at www.bikethetrail.co.nz to ensure medical information and contact details for family members are on file.

This year people can choose to do the full Bike the Trail ride (25km) from Harcourt Park in Upper Hutt or the shorter 15km ride, which starts at County Lane (off Fergusson Drive), in Silverstream. Both rides end at Hikoikoi Reserve in Petone where a gold coin donation barbecue will feed hungry riders and support a local community group.

Bike and people transport is provided free back to the start line.

Register now at www.bikethetrail.co.nz

Bike the Trail is an event partnership between Hutt City Council and Upper Hutt City Council.
