New Coromandel aerial photography underway

New Coromandel aerial photography underway

Map images of our town roads, new subdivisions and town layout changes will soon feature aerial images being photographed from the sky this week.

The aircraft can fly under clouds and are doing the photography when the light is even so the detail of our new streets, subdivisions and changes to towns can be seen clearly.

We're using a fixed wing aircraft first, with a camera mounted in the bottom of the aircraft, and we'll finish smaller areas with photographs taken from a drone.

The updated aerial photography will replace the last photographs taken in 2010, which are now out of date in many parts of the Coromandel.
Once finished and edited, the new images will be freely available to download and will help ratepayers with development plans.
