The FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 draw took place in Auckland on Tuesday 10 February and sees Germany, Fiji, Uzbekistan, and Honduras based in Christchurch for Group F matches, with additional fixture from Group E featuring Brazil and North Korea.

Christchurch Stadium will host nine matches in total, including six group matches, one round of 16 match, two quarter finals and one semi-final.

Official Council representative for the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015, Councillor Yani Johanson says, "Hosting Germany, Fiji, Uzbekistan, Honduras, North Korea and Brazil is great news for football in Christchurch. To see players from Germany, the current FIFA World Cup Champions, and Brazil, five times winners of the FIFA World Cup Trophy will be a once in a life time experience. We will warmly welcome the teams to our region and look forward to showcasing the city as it rebuilds and recovers.

"Some of these players will go on to become the next Neymar or Schweinsteiger, and to see them play here in our back yard, will be an inspiring for our future generations of football stars.

"The upgraded training facilities at Ferrymead, Garrick, Avonhead and Linfield Parks will deliver high quality training facilities for the teams and local clubs and will be one of the lasting legacies from the biggest ever football event to be held in Christchurch." says Councillor Johanson.

Twenty four teams from around the world, including New Zealand, will compete for the FIFA U-20 World Cup trophy, with the final taking place in Auckland's North Harbour Stadium on Saturday 20 June 2015.
