Record Crowds Anticipated at the Biggest Ever Booksale

Dunedin (Monday, 16 February) – You might be forgiven for thinking there are rock stars performing at the Dunedin City Library on Friday, 20 February. Last year’s queue of people waiting for the doors to open for the highly-anticipated annual book sale stretched far up Moray Place.

Visitors are expected from all over the region, bringing their backpacks, shopping bags and even car boots to fill with bargain books, as the Library once again clears its shelves of older stock to make way for the new. The sale grows larger every year, with an army of staff needed to help at the tills. With items as cheap as 50 cents, and all manner of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, posters maps and more to choose from, a trip to the book sale makes for a great day out. You can even grab a sausage or two from the sizzle to keep your energy levels up for the big shop.

The sale runs for the whole weekend, Friday to Sunday with EFTPOS and cash facilities available. Visitors are advised to bring a bag or two as people usually find more bargains than they anticipate. Put the Biggest Ever Booksale in your diary and get ready for a bit of literary fossicking!

Doors open:

Saturday, 21 February 10am-4pm
