Police appeal for witnesses after man injured near Momorangi Reserve

Canterbury Police are appealing to the public for help after a man was taken by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital with unexplained head injuries this morning (26 February 2015).

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant, Michael Ford, says “the 43 year old man was found semi-conscious in Momorangi Reserve in the Redwood suburb of Christchurch at approximately 2am after a member of the public called emergency services. He remains in Christchurch Hospital ICU in a critical condition.”

Police investigations are continuing.

He is described as 174cm tall, medium build with short dark hair and was wearing dark coloured trousers and t-shirt.

Canterbury Police have not been able to speak to the man and at this stage it is unclear how he sustained his injuries.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Ford said “Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw a man fitting his description in the vicinity of Momorangi Reserve or Momorangi Crescent between 1.30am and 2am this morning (26 February 2015).”

Anyone who can help is asked to call Police on 03 363 7400.
