Pukerua Bay School ‘Village Fair’ Gala

Your Fête Awaits You!

Pukerua Bay School ‘Village Fair’ Gala

Your fête awaits you at this year’s Village Fair Gala at Pukerua Bay School on Saturday 21 March, 11am.

Step back in time and enjoy all the traditions of a Village Fair, featuring live music by the talented Avidiva, plenty of stalls, food, entertainment for the kids and bargains galore.

School principal Mary Jones says this year money raised from the Gala will go towards the school’s landscaping plan.

“The school community works hard to fundraise through our annual gala and as a result we’ve been able to upgrade our ICT capacity at the school,” Mrs Jones says.

“This year, we’re looking outside the classroom. We want children to continue learning when they’re outdoors, so will be focusing on landscaping projects that improve the school learning environment.”

Mrs Jones says the school is buzzing in preparation for a successful Gala again this year. “We’ve gone a bit vintage with a Village Fair theme, so expect a bit of down-to-earth, good old fashioned fun with our kids’ games and entertainment, including our adored Fairy and Elf Land for the littlies and a police dog.”

“We’re lucky this year to have secured Avidiva as our headline entertainment. One of the girls is local to Pukerua Bay and was keen to give something back to the community,” says Mrs Jones.

All of the usual stalls are returning – including toys, clothing, tombola, bric-a-brac, plants, books, crafts and the silent auction, as well as great coffee and delicious ‘homemade in Pukerua Bay’ food.

Mrs Jones says last year’s Gala again raised over $28,000. “We’re a small school with a big heart.

Our parents and staff work hard to pull the Gala day together – it’s such a big achievement and it’s a wonderful day for the school.”
