Suspicious death now believed accidental - Hamilton

Police investigating the death of a man who was found with head injuries in Hilllsborough Terrace Hamilton during the night now believe that foul play was not involved.

Following an examination of the area it appears that he died as a result of an accidental fall down a steep bank and over a 5 metre retaining wall onto the roadway.

Police will submit a report on the death to the Hamilton Coroner. The dead man was an overseas visitor and was in New Zealand on business.

His name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
