Draft Long Term Plan community discussion events

Residents and ratepayers are invited to attend any of four community discussion events next week to learn more about what interests them in Horowhenua District Council's Draft Long Term Plan 2015 - 2025.

Each runs from 5pm to 7pm and on Monday 16 March at the Manawatu College hall in Foxton, Tuesday 17 March at the Memorial Hall in Shannon, Wednesday 18 March at the Manawatu Marine Boating Club in Foxton Beach, and Thursday 19 March in the Council Chambers at Horowhenua District Council's office in Levin.

The Draft Long Term Plan (LTP) 2015 - 2025 Consultation Document, together with a suite of supporting information documents and maps, is available online at www.horowhenua.govt.nz/ltp. They are also available at Council's office in Levin, Te Takere, the Foxton and Shannon Libraries, Tokomaru Store, Waitarere Beach Four Square and the Manakau Store.

During the consultation period, Council Officers and Elected Members will be available to speak to any resident or ratepayer about the Draft LTP. Anyone wishing to make an appointment with a Council Officer should phone 06 366 0999 or email enquiries@horowhenua.govt.nz. Anyone wishing to speak to an Elected Member can contact them directly - their contact details can be found online at www.horowhenua.govt.nz/council.

Submissions on the Draft LTP close on Friday 3 April 2015. Submitters can prepare their submission using the submission template, which is available as an insert within the Consultation Document.

Submitters who wish to speak to their submission will have the opportunity to be heard on 5, 6 or 7 May 2015. Deliberation on all submissions will then take place on 26, 27 and 28 May 2015. The final LTP needs to be adopted by Council before 30 June 2015.
