Fatal Crash Update, Alfriston

Fatal Crash Update, Alfriston

Counties Manukau Police Serious Crash Unit is continuing its investigation into a fatal crash which occurred on the Alfriston-Ardmore Road at around 8am on Thursday 19 March.

18 year old Brandon Rowe was confirmed deceased at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the white Mazda Familia.

Officer in Charge of the Counties Manukau Police Serious Crash Unit, Sergeant Mark Fleming, says that it appears that the Mazda lost control and crashed into a power pole.

“No other vehicles were involved in the crash. However we are interested to hear from anyone who may have seen the Mazda in Clevedon or on the Alfriston-Ardmore Road at any time prior to the crash, which was around 8am.”

It is also believed that one or two vehicles stopped at the scene of the crash before Police arrived.

“It is important for us to speak with anyone who may have been at the crash scene at any point,” says Sergeant Fleming.

“Tragically a young man has lost his life in this crash and our thoughts are with his family at this time.”

Anyone who may be able to assist with information about the crash is asked to contact the Serious Crash Unit on 09 261 1302. Information can be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
