Another bumper weekend in Wellington

Another bumper weekend in Wellington – just make sure you’re not bumper to bumper

It’s the final party of summer; CubaDupa hits Wellington’s Cuba Precinct 28–29 March transforming iconic Cuba Street into a magical playground of adventure, light, sound and taste.

Because of this and a number of other events in and around the CBD this weekend there will parking restrictions and road closures in a number of areas. If you are attending any of these events, or traveling through the city we encourage you to plan your travel in advance and allow extra time.

CubaDupa will run on Saturday 28 March from 12 noon to 12 midnight and Sunday 29 from 12 noon to 5pm. Roads will be closed to through traffic from midnight Friday 27 March to 5am Monday 30 March.

During this time roads will become pedestrianised from Manners Street up to Karo Drive and between Taranaki and Victoria Streets (with the exception of Vivian Street). There will be no parking on the streets throughout the zone, which will be sign-posted from Friday 27 March.

The following streets will all be closed:

• Dixon Street (between Taranaki and Victoria Streets)

• Ghuznee Street (between Taranaki and Victoria Streets)

• Marion Street

• Garrett Street

• Cuba Street (between Karo Drive and Wakefield Streets on Saturday 28 and between Karo Drive and Dixon Street on Sunday 29)

• Abel Smith Street (between Kelvin Grove and Kensington Streets)

• On Saturday 28, Lower Cuba Street between Manners and Wakefield Streets, will also be closed for the Night Market.
