Delays continue on south and western rail lines

Southern and western train services running about 20 minutes behind

10.45am

There are delays of up to 20 minutes on both western and south Auckland passenger train services following the disruption at Papakura this morning between 7am and 8.15 today. As a result of the delays to metro services, rescheduling of freight services and the Northern Explorer also had to be accommodated as all services were re-adjusted.

There are delays of up to 10 minutes on other lines.

At this stage we have no details as to the cause of the delay at Papakura other than it affected a diesel locomotive. The exact cause is being investigated

Auckland Transport is working as hard as possible to get services back on time as soon as possible

Auckland Transport apologises to all passengers for the inconvenience.
