Auckland Motorways Police and
other emergency sevices are currently at the scene of a
serious crash on the Southern Motorway in the vicinity of
the Redoubt Road off-ramp.
The single vehicle crash
involves a truck that has collided with a number of
lamp-poles on the left edge of the motorway.
Ambulance
services are currently engaged in attending to the male
driver, he is described as being in a critical
condition.
The cause of the crash will be investigated by
the Police Serious Crash Unit.
The left lane (lane one) of
the motorway is closed until the situation is
resolved.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the
vicinity, or to seek alternate routes to bypass the crash
scene.
It is anticipated that the crash scene will be
cleared prior to the peak flow traffic
period.
