Alpine Aqualand Annual Maintenance Shutdown

Alpine Aqualand Annual Maintenance Shutdown

Alpine Aqualand will be closed for maintenance from 18 April until 3 May inclusive.

The closure which occurs annually will take place in two stages:

• Saturday 18 April to Sunday 26 April - all Alpine Aqualand facilities will be closed.

• Monday 27 April to Sunday 3 May – the lap pool only will remain closed. The rest of the facility will be open.

Sport and Recreation Manager Rachelle Greene said this is the longest period of time the lap pool has been closed to the public.

“We’re closing the lap pool for a little longer this year to allow for a complete overhaul. In addition to the usual shutdown maintenance programme we are replacing the pools heating system with a gas boiler which will mean improved reliability, better efficiency and more consistent pool temperatures throughout the year,” she said.

Ms Greene added that there is never a good time to close the facility. “We close every year at this time because it is our quietest period. We have also ensured our users have been given plenty of advance notice so trust the closure will not create too greater an inconvenience. We do know that the results of the maintenance programme will speak for themselves when the facility reopens on 4 May.”

All swim and swim school membership charges will be adjusted accordingly. Alpine Health and Fitness will be open as usual.
