Road Conditions - Crashes - SH 12 and 14 Kaipara - Northland

Dargaville police advise caution on their roads.

Following long dry periods the area have recently received rain making the roads quite slippery. Senior Sergeant Robert HUYS (Officer in Charge Dargaville) advises "we have attended several road crashes today on our State Highways (SH12 and SH14) where initial investigations indicate that the slippery road surface may have been a contributory factor in the crash.

We advise motorists to drive to the conditions and remind them that roads after long fine periods can be slippery following rain" Inspector Kerry Watson Northern Communications Centre Note local radio broadcasts would be helpful 1255hrs.
