Reminder to have your say on NRC 10-year plan

Reminder to have your say on NRC 10-year plan

Northlanders keen to have their say on the Northland’s Regional Council’s new 10 year plan are being reminded they have until 3pm Friday 24 April to provide written feedback or to register to deliver their views in person to councillors later.

Funding for emergency services, new flood protection infrastructure for Kerikeri and pest management at Whangarei Heads are among several key issues in the new Long Term Plan (LTP).

As part of the LTP process, the council has produced a simpler, clearer ‘Consultation Document’ highlighting main changes and new initiatives being considered – and how it might fund them.

The Consultation Document is available at regional council offices and public libraries, or online from www.nrc.govt.nz/ltpfeedback

Feedback can be given online using the council’s new online portal, via Facebook or Twitter via www.facebook.com/NorthlandRegionalCouncil or following council on Twitter at twitter.com/NRCexpress

Feedback can still also be sent via post, email or fax and there’s also a feedback form at the back of the Consultation Document.

The council will also hold feedback meetings in early May in Kaitaia, Kerikeri, Kaikohe, Whangarei and Dargaville for those who’d like to present their views to councillors in person.

The council says while people don’t have to have given written feedback to speak at those meetings, they still need to register to do so, again by3pm Friday 24 April.

If you’re NOT providing written feedback, but want to speak, you can register by calling 0800 002 004 or online via www.nrc.govt.nz/registrations
