Signage bylaw: public deliberations begin
Signage bylaw: public deliberations begin
After considering the 183 written and 28 oral submissions on Auckland’s draft Signage Bylaw, a panel of councillors and Auckland Transport representatives will begin public deliberations on Thursday at 11.30am. A final oral submission will also be heard prior to discussions.
The proposed Auckland Council and Auckland Transport Signage Bylaw will manage the display, placement and size of signs in, on, or visible from a road or public place throughout the Auckland region.
The hearings panel will focus on discussing each aspect of the draft Signage bylaw including the size of posters, number/placement of portable signs, real estate signage and the relationship between the proposed Auckland Unitary Plan and the proposed new bylaw.
A second day of public deliberations may
be required in the coming weeks. The hearings panel
recommendations will then go to council’s Governing Body
and the Board of Auckland Transport to be approved and a
date set to adopt the bylaw.
