Taupo Home & Garden Show – Warm Your Home, Fire Your Imagination

It’s time to warm your home, fire your imagination and make the most of the red hot show-only specials at the Taupo Home & Garden Show! The three day extravaganza has all the expert help and clever ideas needed to achieve your home makeover project – whatever its size or stage. From 1 to 3 May, over 130 exhibitors will gather at the Great Lake Centre to showcase the latest products and innovations for home improvement.

Show organiser, Daniel Joll says, “Heat pumps, insulation, dehumidifiers and double glazing will all feature at the show, along with kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, appliances and plants. This year, we have an especially good range of builders, building products and solar experts - but there will be something for everyone. Better still, much of what’s on offer will be at bargain show-only prices.”

Show-goers also stand to win a queen-sized Tempur Deluxe 22 mattress and Lifestyle Zero-G electric bed base (adjustable head and feet) worth $8,498 from Tempur NZ, in association with Danske Mobler Taupo. To enter, show visitors simply need to add their details into one of ten computer terminals on arrival. The winner will be announced on More FM Taupo early the following week.

As for those specials, Amuri Kitchens, for instance, will be sharing a stand with Ikon to showcase kitchen appliances, sinks, their gorgeous range of stone and laminate bench tops, along with Hettich Soft Closing cupboards and drawers. They will be running an appliance package special where show visitors can purchase an Ikon oven, range hood and induction hob for only $1,899, saving over $1,690.

Lucy Doig from HomeTech says, “We’re looking forward to brightening winter days with our Solatube Daylighting Systems, which bring daylight into the home to create a lighter and healthier living environment. Visit our stand to receive a show-only discount and for the chance to win a Solatube Daylighting System installed.” These are just a few of the fantastic savings that will be on offer for show-goers.

As usual, there will be a special section for outdoor products and services. This will showcase plants, garden equipment and art. Carl McIvor from Palmers Gardenworld Taupo explains, “We will be featuring hanging baskets, potted bulbs, fruit trees, shrubs and ornamentals. We will have a special on the potted bulbs and will be promoting a new general fertilizer, ‘Liquid Gold’, which is the optimum food for plants.’

The Lake Taupo Woodworkers Guild will be providing woodturning demonstrations and will have its handiwork for sale, including handcrafted chopping boards and platters, through to artistic pieces. Because it’s all about gathering information and ideas, there will be free daily seminars too. On each of the three days, industry experts will speak on building, choosing colour and the latest in paint. An alfresco food court will allow show-goers to rest and refuel while they soak up all that is on offer. More FM Taupo promises to provide fun and entertainment with Resene Paint-a-Pot (kids) and Paint-a-Gnome (adults) on Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 2pm.

So come, see and be inspired by the Taupo Home & Garden Show!

Any number of movie examples come to mind, beginning with Rudolf Valentino’s role (over a century ago) as the romantic Arab hero in The Sheik...
