New
Plymouth Police are continuing to investigate a crash that
occurred on Frankley Road, yesterday (25 April, 2015).
At
about 4pm yesterday emergency services attended the scene
where a vehicle collided with a pedestrian.
Both the
single male occupant of the vehicle and the male pedestrian
were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the
vehicle was 22-year-old Alekh ACHARYA, a Nepalese national
who had been residing in New Zealand for some years.
The
pedestrian was Ronald Victor MILLMAN, aged 67, of New
Plymouth.
A scene examination began this morning and
preliminary indications suggest speed was a factor in the
crash.
The Serious Crash Unit is assisting the New
Plymouth Police with the crash investigation.
Officers
have spoken with a number of witnesses and encourage anyone
else that saw the crash or has any other information to
contact the New Plymouth Police on (06) 759 5500.
