Sexual Violation - Albany - Waitemata

Waitematā Police investigating a sexual violation Waitematā District Police are investigating a sexual violation of a 20 year old woman in the early hours of this morning, at a reserve off Oakway and Pin Oak Drive, Schnapper Rock Road, Albany. A man, unknown to the victim, sexually assaulted the victim and then ran from the scene.

The investigation is still in the very early stages and Police seek public assistance.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone in the park on the evening 30 April through to 2:30am on May 1st. Police also like to hear from anyone who has noticed any suspicious behaviour in the Snapper Rock / Oakway Drive area over the past few weeks. Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown of the North Shore CIB says that we are working with the victim and inquiries are continuing.
