Hutt Road Closure update

Flooding continues in Hutt City and Harcourt Werry Drive has now been closed from the Kennedy Good Bridge to Connolly Street.

Motorists are also advised to avoid High Street south of Melling Road, the VIC/Connolly Street area.

Block Road and Riverbank Carpark remain closed. Hutt City Council advise that no parking tickets will be issued today in the CBD – whether carparkers have Riverbank Carpark tickets or not – provided people park safety.

Flooding is also occurring on Victoria Street – Ewen Bridge end – and people are advised to avoid that area.

Localised flooding is happening across the city.

Motorists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel on the roads.

Residents in the Waiwhetu Stream area should know that contractors are on site monitoring the situation and, again, our advice is to avoid unnecessary travel and stay home if possible.
