FIFA football fever reaches New Zealand

Christchurch City Council is encouraging fans to come out and see the stars of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2015.

Teams from Germany, Uzbekistan, Fiji and Honduras will touch down at Christchurch International Airport next week ahead of their group stage matches in the city.

Wednesday 27 May, commencing between 9.30am-10am in the international arrivals area - formal welcome to German team by Council officials.

Thursday 28 May, commencing between 10.15-10.45am in the international arrivals area - formal welcome to Uzbekistan team by Council officials.

Thursday 28 May, commencing between 12.40pm-1.10pm in the international arrivals area - formal welcome to Fiji and Honduras teams by Council officials.

WHAT: Official welcome to Christchurch for teams playing tournament group stage matches.

WHO: Host city officials, Kapa Haka group, fans and teams from Germany, Fiji, Honduras and Uzbekistan.

WHEN: Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 May 2015.

WHERE: Christchurch International Airport (International arrivals area).

PARKING: Paid parking is available in the airport car park.

The FIFA U-20 World Cup 2015 New Zealand takes place between 30 May–20 June 2015.
