Council building receives remedial work

Council building receives remedial work

You may have noticed some scaffolding over the main entrance to our Thames District Office building on Mackay Street.

The balcony directly above the main entrance, which is accessed from the Council Chambers, has ongoing issues with water ponding and currently also raises building compliance concerns.

Work to enclose the balcony will start today and demolition work is scheduled to take place over the weekend (23 and 24 May).

Access to the building through the main doors will not be impacted and all precautions will be taken to safeguard access during construction.

The work is estimated to be completed by the 16 June.
