Police appeal for help over bicycle thefts

Canterbury Police appeal for public’s help following Christchurch Boys High School bike thefts

Canterbury Police are currently investigating six incidents where a bike has been reported stolen from the bicycle racks at Christchurch Boys High School since mid-March 2015.

Canterbury Police are keen to identify the man in the attached CCTV images seen entering the school as he may have information that can assist with some of these ongoing investigations. The man is described as Caucasian and medium build.

A black/green Merida mountain bike, a black Kona Kohuna mountain bike and a white/black Merida mountain bike are among those reported stolen. CCTV footage indicates the thefts have taken place shortly after lunchtime during the school day.

Police inquiries to date have not led to the stolen mountain bikes being recovered.

Canterbury Police are keen to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images or has any information on the whereabouts of the stolen bikes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Canterbury Police on 03 363 7400 option one.
