Police are trying to identify the male from the attached photograph, responsible for an assault in Waikanae today.
At approximately 9.30 am on Tuesday the 26th of May 2015 a 31 year old man was assaulted on the south bound platform of the Waikanae Train Station.
The victim does not know the offender, who immediately after the assault, ran through the train station car park and across Main Road, Waikanae.
Police believe the offender may have later boarded a southbound train and would like to hear from anyone with information as to the identity of that male.
Although Police believe this is an isolated incident we do not recommend the offender is approached.
Police also believe several people witnessed the assault and would like to speak to them.
