HBRC hearing submissions to its Long Term Plan 2015-25
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council will spend the first three days of next week hearing submissions to its Long Term Plan 2015-25.
The plan, which was released in April for public comment, sets out HBRC’s priorities for the next 10 years. The priorities were developed after public consultation last year which highlighted a range of important issues, including balancing the region’s water resources and land use, investing in parks and open spaces and helping everyone to feel safe.
HBRC held seven public meetings throughout the region to discuss the plan and encourage residents to have their say.
HBRC received 159 submissions, the bulk commenting on whether or not to increase funding for Tourism Hawke’s Bay. Around half of the submitters have asked to present verbal submissions.
The Council will consider all the submissions at their meetings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week, where those wanting to present to the council will have their opportunity.
The Council will adopt the final Long Term Plan by the end of June.
