Coromandel Boat Ramp Fees and Charges for 2016

Coromandel Boat Ramp Fees and Charges for 2016

If you're a boatie, you'll be glad to know that boat ramp parking and amenity fees and charges did not change when we released our new fees and charges. (Go here for harbour fees and charges)

However, even at the facilities where parking and amenity permits apply, Mercury Bay Councillor Tony Fox says "we also will always have the option for those with smaller craft to launch at serviced places with no charge".

You'll also be pleased to know that we have some upgrades planned over the next two years to facilities in Matarangi, Kuaotunu, Purangi and Whitianga (Dundas Street/Robinson Road). For example, we plan to put a floating pontoon in at Purangi.

While the Long Term Plan harbours fees and charges page lists all of Mercury Bay as a permit area, Councillor Fox explains "changes will only be considered as and when Council and the community upgrade the facilities, such as the Mercury Bay boat ramp."

"When these facility upgrades are complete, they will then be added to the list of locations where permits will be considered," he says. "Of course, all facilities in the Mercury Bay area that incur charges will simply be covered by the same permit."
