Operation Owens - Christchurch
Canterbury Police are now able to confirm the identity of the victim whose death is the subject of a homicide investigation in Owens Terrace, Christchurch. Harold Richardson, an 87-year-old male was located deceased in his home address on Sunday 2 August 2015.
A post mortem examination has been completed, and next of kin has been advised of his death. Detective Inspector Tony Hill states “Police and forensic experts are completing an examination of Mr Richardson’s address, and will likely be there for several more days.
Examination of another address of interest to the inquiry has been completed”. Police staff will be conducting inquiries in the area for sightings of Mr Richardson, or other movements of interest on Saturday 1 August and Sunday 2 August. There are currently 18 police staff involved in the investigation. Police will not be commenting on the results of the post mortem examination.
