Shape Franklin’s Future as a Youth Representative

The Franklin Youth Advisory Board is seeking six enthusiastic, driven and high-achieving young people to join a group of like-minded leaders shaping Franklin for the better.

“The Franklin Youth Advisory Board suits young people who are passionate about youth affairs, social issues and improving their community,” says Chairperson Marek Townley.

“It’s an outstanding opportunity to be part of a group with a credible voice, whose feedback gets taken seriously.”

“Recently we have advocated for improved accessibility of rail services and given advice on the council’s Long-term Plan. Another of our big projects is the development of a new skate park for Pukekohe.”

The Board is also looking for one young person to join the prestigious Mayor’s Youth Advisory Panel as a regional representative for Franklin’s youth, working closely with politicians and community leaders. This individual will require exceptional commitment, communication skills and a passion for politics and social change.

Applicants must live, work or study in Franklin and commit to attending regular meetings in Pukekohe. Applications close on Friday 4 September at 5pm.

Further information, criteria and an application form can be found at recruitment.fyab.co.nz.
